Two Families: Explorer and Legend
Explorer launched in 2019. It was created by three Givaudan perfumers — Jordi Fernandez, Antoine Maisondieu and Olivier Pescheux — and built around bergamot, vetiver and patchouli (Moodie Davitt Report: Montblanc Explorer launch). Platinum is the fresher version and Extreme the stronger parfum.
Legend is the fresh, aromatic fougère family. Montblanc credits the Legend EDP to master perfumer Olivier Pescheux; Legend Night is the darker evening version.
Explorer vs Creed Aventus
Explorer isn't a copy of Aventus — Montblanc lists bergamot, vetiver and patchouli, with no pineapple — but it shares a fresh, woody, masculine style.
